Abstract

A hazai kiskereskedelmi üzlettípusok közötti árverseny „mérését” a különböző üzlettípusok árváltoztatási jellemzőinek gyakorisági vizsgálata alapján végeztük. A kapott eredmények a vártnál gyengébb árversenyre engednek következtetni – az akciók és árcsökkentések gyakoriságának együttes aránya sem érte el az áremelkedésekét –, amit az élelmiszerek fogyasztói árindexének évek óta tartó, inflációt meghaladó növekedése is alátámaszt. A tanulmány az élelmiszerek fogyasztói árainak folyamatos növekedését a makrogazdasági hatások mellett az ellátási láncban megfigyelhető jelenségekkel (erőviszonyok, hátsó kondíciók, beszerzési ár alatti értékesítési tilalom) magyarázza. = The study analyses the most important factors influencing the supply and pricing policies and their differences among the Hungarian owned, the multinational commercial chains and the small independent retail shops. It also presents the interrelation of the factors influencing the pricing policy with the corporate activities’ main objectives (e.g. maximising the profit volume). The pricing and the price-setting ability depend also on the vertical and horizontal competition within the food supply chain. We have “measured” the price competition among the domestic retail shop types through frequency analysis of the price change characteristics of the different shop types. The results thus received allowed the conclusion that the price competition was less than expected: even the aggregate rate of the frequency of sales actions and price decreases did not amount to that of the price increases. This fact is also substantiated by the consumer price index of food, increasing already for several years at a rate above the rate of inflation. The study has explained continuous price increase of the food products with some phenomena observed in the supply chain (power relations, background conditions, ban of selling below purchase price), beyond the macro-economic effects.
